Congo-Brazzaville’s government has pushed back the schedule for its offshore and onshore licensing round because the country’s all-important Petroleum Code has yet to be approved.

Oil companies that officially register an interest in eight maritime blocks and five onshore blocks will now have to wait until the end of March 2016 before bid documents are available, representing a three-month delay.

Under the original schedule, revealed two months ago, bid packages were due to be released at the end of this month, with the Ministry of Hydrocarbons accepting offers until the end of March before announcing the final results two months later.
