ConocoPhillips will cease production from the MacCulloch field off the UK next year after 18 years of output through the North Sea producer floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

The US supermajor confirmed this week it told the vessel’s operator — North Sea Production Company, a joint venture between Maersk FPSOs and Odebrecht —last month.

A ConocoPhillips spokesperson told Upstream: “on 3 November ConocoPhillips, on behalf of the MacCulloch owners, formally advised North Sea Production Company that it would cease production from the North Sea Producer FPSO in 2015.”
