CONOCOPHILLIPS has revealed that two large floating production, storage and offloading vessels could be deployed at its gas fields off northern Australia as part of a plan to provide backfill gas for the Darwin liquefied natural gas plant.
The two FPSOs would be deployed on the Caldita-Barossa and Greater Poseidon fields, said Steve Ovenden, ConocoPhillips Australia’s vice president for growth. An FPSO for Caldita-Barossa has been expected by the market, but an FPSO for Greater Poseidon has been kept under wraps by the US operator.
