US supermajor ConocoPhillips is working on a project to cut carbon emissions from its Darwin liquefied natural gas plant in Australia’s Northern Territory by using battery technology to boost turbine efficiency.
ConocoPhillips said the project would enable the existing turbines at its Darwin LNG facility to run at maximum efficiency and remove the need to run an additional unit, reducing carbon emissions from power generation by 20%.
