ConocoPhillips has started conceptual studies for the potential development of two oil and gas fields in the Norwegian North Sea.

The US independent has passed the first decision gate on the Eldfisk Nord and Tommeliten Alpha finds and is considering either subsea development or unmanned platforms.

A Conocophillips spokesperson told Upstream that the two finds are being developed independently of each other, with both supported by "an experienced operational project organisation" from the company's operated Ekofisk field.
