“We have worked closely with Petrobras over several months on the extensions of the 6001 and 6002. We estimate these contract extensions, at dayrates in the low $380,000s, will add about $1.4 billion in incremental backlog,” said Ensco senior vice president of marketing, Kevin Robert.

The semisubs have been working in Brazil since delivery in 2001 and were both previously contracted for dayrates in the mid $270,000s.
