McDermott Indonesia, Nippon Steel Construction Indonesia (Nisconi), Technip and Saipem are in contention for the engineering, procurement, installation and construction contract for the platform, sources said.
Technip and Saipem have the necessary installation capability but do not have fabrication yards in Indonesia, so each has linked up with an Indonesian yard.
Guna Nusa is in with Technip, while SMOE has teamed up with Saipem as it has many times in the past.
