MULTIPLE work-starved contractors submitted bids this week to UK-based independent Genel Energy in a competition to secure early engineering work on a multi-billion dollar gas project in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Industry sources said Genel has received bid documents covering pre-front engineering and design and FEED studies on the delayed 8.5 trillion cubic foot Miran-Bina Bawi sour gas project.
The full list of bidders is not known but players such as Petrofac, Technip, SNC-Lavalin, Xodus and Doris-owned ODE are thought to be interested, alongside one or more Asian companies.
