China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is poised to win a contract from state-owned Qatar Petroleum to carry out engineering, procurement and construction of a new platform topsides for the North Field Alpha complex off Qatar.
Sources close to the tender process said Qatar Petroleum recently issued a letter of intent to COOEC and a contract is likely to be awarded soon.
