Chinese contracting giant Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is looking into buying subsea construction vessel Lewek Constellation from beleaguered Singaporean rival Ezra Holdings, writes Xu Yihe.
COOEC is aiming to expand its fleet for more sophisticated operations in harsh environments.
Well-placed industry officials told Upstream that COOEC expressed strong interest in acquiring the vessel as soon as Ezra indicated it is looking for a potential sale and leaseback deal.
