Chinese engineering and construction giant Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is understood to have been awarded a contract by the Fluor-JGC consortium to provide the majority of modules needed to build two liquefied natural gas trains for the Shell-led LNG Canada project in British Columbia.
Industry officials said that COOEC has been lined up with a work commitment to fabricate 19 process modules carrying a total steel weight of as much as 150,000 tonnes by Fluor-JGC, which is the main contracting partnership for the LNG Canada consortium.
