Australian operator Cooper Energy will soon spud the first offshore exploration well for years in the Otway basin, while compatriot Beach Energy is preparing for its own drilling campaign in the same basin, writes Russell Searancke.
Cooper said the semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Monarch was due on location on 31 July 2019 to drill back-to-back exploration wells starting with Annie-1 then Elanora-1.
