Australian independent Cooper Energy is moving onto a new drilling assignment in the offshore Gippsland basin having completed two development wells on its Sole gas project, writes Russell Searancke.

Cooper was very happy with the outcome of the Sole-3 and Sole-4 wells, which will underpin its first Australian offshore development.

Flow test results at Sole-3 were constrained by surface equipment to a maximum of 48 million cubic feet per day of gas, while gas flows from Sole-4 were similarly constrained to 60 MMcfd.
