Cooper Energy has spudded the first offshore exploration well in Australia’s offshore Otway basin since 2012.
The Australian independent is drilling ahead at the Annie-1 exploration well on Block Vic/P44, roughly nine kilometres off the coast of Victoria in a water depth of 58 metres.
Diamond Offshore’s semi-submersible rig Ocean Monarch is drilling the wildcat on Annie, which has a best estimate prospective resource of 70.5
