The failure of two mooring chains on Diamond Offshore Drilling's semi-submersible Ocean Monarch has prompted Australian independent Cooper Energy to defer an exploration well off south-east Australia.
Cooper hired the semisub to drill the Annie and Elanora prospects in Block Vic/P44.
The first well Annie was a solid discovery but abandonment of the well was suspended following failure of the two mooring chains.
