TechnipFMC has taken a $280 million provision related to ongoing corruption investigations in Brazil, France and the US, a charge that contributed to the London-based contractor posting a huge $2.26 billion loss in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The company said it is co-operating with the authorities in all three countries about potentially corrupt activities related to legacy projects in Brazil, Equatorial Guinea and Ghana, plus Unaoil contracts in Iraq.
