China Oilfield Service Ltd has chartered a jack-up rig built by Chinese yard CIMC Raffles for operations in Bohai Bay in the country’s north.
The Gulf Driller IV set off on Wednesday on a 16-month charter for development drilling at the Pengbo block.
It is understood to be Gulf Driller IV’s first employment, although construction was completed three years ago.
