China Oilfield Services Ltd (COSL) has taken over the management and marketing of two jack-up rigs completed by China Merchant Heavy Industry (CMHI), though talks between the yard and Norwegian rig owner Borr Drilling to offload other rigs were unsuccessful.
Industry officials said the JU200E-design jack-ups Oriental Dragon and Oriental Phoenix have already been contracted by COSL to work at two unnamed fields in the South China Sea and Bohai Bay, respectively.
