THE UK government has given privately-owned Cuadrilla Resources the go-ahead to explore for shale gas resources in North West England, in a landmark decision that could open the way for multiple hydraulic fracturing activities throughout the country.
Cuadrilla was given permission to start fracking operations in Lancashire next year after the UK government over-ruled last year’s decision by the local council to reject Cuadrilla’s drilling application.
