The new term will start this September, with options to extend by another seven years.
The vessel is located over Shell's Curlew field in Block 29/7 and is also host to production from Canadian Natural Resources' (CNR) Kyle field although CNR shortly aims to re-route Kyle output to its Banff FPSO.
According to Kyle partner Bow Valley, output from the field will switch to Banff in September, a move expected to reduce operating costs by 75% to about $5 per barrel.
