German operator DEA has decided to press ahead later this year with drilling the Toutatis prospect, the most controversial well in years in Norway given its location just south of the pristine Lofoten Islands and proximity to an important cod fishing area.
Environmental group Bellona and local fishermen in the Lofoten area are already preparing campaigns against the Toutatis wildcat, which DEA is hoping to spud in September or October.
