The Beach Energy-led Kupe joint venture in New Zealand has made a final investment decision on a NZ$100 million (US$63 million) compression project.

The inlet compression project will reduce inlet pressure and allow an extension of the plateau production rate, while maximising recovery from the Kupe field, said co-venturer New Zealand Oil & Gas (NZOG).

NZOG said its 4% interest in the project carried a capital investment of NZ$4 million.
