THE BLUESTREAM deep-water pipeline, which will carry dry gas from Russian fields across the Black Sea to a landfall in Turkey, is set to tear up the record books. It will be in the deepest waters in the world, reaching 2100 metres with more than 70% of its 390-kilometre length beyond 2000 metres. The current deepest production record is only 1853 metres at Roncador in the Campos basin off Brazil.
