A final investment decision on the first phase of the Total-operated Absheron gas condensate development off Azerbaijan could slip into next year, potentially pushing first production into 2020 instead of 2019 as has been hoped.
“There are still a lot of decisions to be made and agreed among the partners before the final investment decision. So it looks more realistic to say it will be made early next year,” a source with knowledge of the situation said.
