Delay until 2021 for first gas from Absheron field

First production from the Total-operated Absheron gas and condensate field in Azerbaijan's Caspian Sea waters has been pushed back to 2021 as partners await the completion of critical infrastructure, writes Kama Mustafayeva.

The French supermajor expects to wrap up completion of the Absheron production well at the end of the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter this year, Total managing director for Azerbaijan, Denis Lemarchal, told Upstream on the sidelines of an industry event in Baku.
