UK-listed Genel Energy is facing fresh delays in plans to develop gas assets in Iraqi Kurdistan, writes Nassir Shirkhani.
The company and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have shelved existing plans for development of the long-delayed Bina Bawi concession in Iraq’s autonomous region and will instead work on a new gas lifting agreement (GLA) to monetise its gas and oil reserves.
