Its foreign crude production is nearly three times that of its own country's national oil output. Deminex, established in 1969 with the aim of boosting oil supplies to Germany's downstream sector, is owned by large German industrial groups including Veba Oil, RWE-DEA and Wintershall. Its expansive exploration and production strategy has enabled it to build an upstream portfolio encompassing acreage in the UK, Norway, Syria, Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia and the former Soviet Union.
