BP has started drilling the first well in a seven-year development drilling campaign at its massive Quad 204 project in the West of Shetland region using the Odfjell Drilling-owned newbuild semi-submersible Deepsea Aberdeen.
After taking the unit on charter last week, BP confirmed midweek that it spudded the first well in the programme on the Loyal field, where two initial producer wells and one injector well will be drilled before the unit moves to the Schiehallion field.
