Statoil has handed in a development plan for the Utgard field in the North Sea, one of the few new oil and gas projects to get a final approval off Norway this year.

The minor gas and condensate field, formerly known as Alfa Sentral, contains 56.4 million barrels of oil equivalent.

It will be produced via two subsea wells tied back to the Sleipner area, with start-up scheduled for late 2019.
