The rig formerly the floating production semisub Enserch Garden Banks will be converted to a moored unit capable of operating in up to 10,000 feet of water. Illustrating its confidence in the current booming market for drilling rigs, Diamond is proceeding with the upgrade without a firm work commitment.
The project has a budget of $200 million and the rig is expected to be ready for service in the fourth quarter of 2008.
