The May 2006 incident at then-EMP subsidiary Lapindo Brantas' Banjar Panji-1 well on the Brantas production sharing contract in East Java is blamed directly on the decision to remove the drill string from the well when it was in an unstable condition, according to one of these reports.
The reports, copies of which have been obtained by Upstream, were commissioned by PSC partner Medco Energi as part of its legal action against Brantas' operator.
