INDIAN-owned Dodsal Resources has found more than 2 trillion cubic feet of gas in its coastal Ruvu basin licence in northern Tanzania.

The news confirms an Upstream report from March last year that the Dubai-headquartered player had early encouragement from the first well of a three-well wildcatting campaign.

After securing a production sharing agreement for the 15,300- square kilometre tract in 2007, ­local subsidiary Dodsal Hydrocarbons & Power started its drilling programme at the end of last year with the Mbuyu-1 probe, followed by Mambakofi-1 and Mtini-1.
