Tellurian has taken a big step towards sanctioning its planned Driftwood liquefied natural gas project in the US after signing offtake and equity investment deals with France's Total worth $700 million, writes Eoin O'Cinneide.

The US liquefaction player and the French supermajor signed one deal that will see the latter purchase 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the proposed development along the Calcasieu River in Louisiana for a $500 million investment.
