International drilling contractors are bullish that exploration activity will gain traction in Brazil in the next few years, especially in the pre-salt province, as operators move forward on commitments for blocks signed in recent rounds, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
Petrobras, ExxonMobil, Chevron, BP, Shell, Equinor and Repsol all acquired acreage in the pre-salt in the past couple of years and will require state-of-the-art equipment to drill across the salt layer in the Campos and Santos basins.
