Operators have kept up momentum in Wyoming’s Powder River basin so far this year as companies focus on growing crude oil production amid lower natural gas prices.
Joseph Mills, chief executive of privately-owned player Samson Resources, said the company has seen a lot of activity by offset operators in the basin, where it holds about 162,000 net acres.
In an effort to focus on the oily part of the play, Samson said it was marketing its gassy Green River basin assets which span 48,000 net acres.
