BP expects to continue drilling operations despite seas as high as 12 feet from Hurricane Alex, which is due to track west of the spill location and make landfall in Mexico.
The well has already passed by the Macondo bore once and is now drilling vertically along side the blown-out well.
The drilling effort is being spearheaded by Boots& Coots, according to a BP video brief.
