A HUGE fleet numbering more than 30 deep-water drillships and semi-submersible rigs have been offered to India’s state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corporation to fill two rig tenders involving the chartering of five deep-water drilling rigs.
Drilling sources said that at least 17 hungry global drilling contractors have submitted bids, with many offering more than one rig to ONGC.
Industry sources have termed the response as “overwhelming” claiming that aggressive bidding by rig players will likely lead to rock-bottom dayrates.
