Oryx Petroleum, one of CNOOC’s partners in the Haute Mer A licence, said three drillstem tests were run in the E-1 exploration well on the Elephant find.
One test, in the N3 zone, flowed at a maximum rate of 1180 barrels per day of 24 degree API oil with a gas-oil ratio of 320 cubic feet per barrel.
“Higher (flow) rates would be expected with a proper completion pack,” said Oryx.
