Brazilian rig and vessel player Etesco has abandoned a work-over rig already completed at Chinese yard Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore (DSIC Offshore) after Petrobras cancelled a charter deal for the unit, writes Xu Yihe.
Industry sources said that Etesco, one of the investors in the rig, has informed DSIC Offshore of the contract cancellation because Petrobras has walked away from its charter commitment for the semi-submersible BT-4000.
