The H5 development plan calls for a new wellhead platform tied in about six kilometres to the existing H4 platform via a subsea pipeline, with first oil planned for next October.
PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation's offshore construction provider PTSC M&C is the main contractor, and will build the 1000-tonne topsides for the platform at its Vung Tau yard.
The jacket has been sub-contracted to Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure (PVC-MS), which recently cut first steel at its Vung Tau facility.
