Independent ECO Resources is considering cancelling plans to drill at a location in the Phetchabun basin onshore Thailand as protests grow given the proposed location’s proximity to the Si Thep historical park.
Partner subsidiaries ECO Orient Resources (Thailand) and ECO Orient Energy had hoped to drill just metres from a 9th century Buddhist stupa in the park, but the plan has angered historians and environmentalists.
