Colombia’s state-controlled oil company Ecopetrol is preparing to kick off a fresh drilling programme later this month at its Akacias oilfield that is set to include as many as 19 new production wells, writes Gareth Chetwynd.
The wells will add to the nine already producing on the Akacias development, which is located in Meta province, and will be drilled in partnership with Spanish oil company Repsol’s Talisman Colombia (TCOG) subsidiary.
