Colombia’s state-run Ecopetrol remains committed to its plan for unconventional drilling in the country as part of its 2019-2021 business plan, despite environmental hold-ups, writes Julia Martinez.

In an earnings call with investors, Ecopetrol chief executive Felipe Bayon said that the company’s plan to move forward with a fracking pilot “has not changed”.

“We continue to view that as something that we will do,” Bayon said.
