State-owned Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) is poised to unveil a new exploration round involving 11 blocks next week as Egypt tries to cash in on renewed interest from international oil companies.

The EGPC round will be followed by a similar tender by sister company Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (Egas), which has normally held acreage more appealing to the international players since it centres on the more prospective offshore Mediterranean Sea.
