Enbridge to merge pipeline expansion plans to cut costs

The Canadian operator “plans to optimise” the previously- announced C$5.6 billion expansion of the Regional Oil Sands System by adding 100 kilometres to the Wood Buffalo Extension segment and connecting it with the Athabasca Twin at Kirby Lake.

Capacity on the Athabasca Twin will increase to 800,000 barrels per day from 450,000 bpd.
