The Toronto-listed South African explorer concluded the production-sharing contract for Block 18 in late July, the latest in a series of African acquisitions.
Energem is keen to emphasise that Block 18 lies within the proven hydrocarbon basin adjacent to blocks 4 and 5, where Woodside Petroleum has made significant offshore finds and expects to bring the Chinguetti field on stream early next year.
