Eni is teaming up with Japanese car manufacturer Toyota in an effort to speed up the spread of hydrogen use in vehicles in Italy.
The Italian major is aiming to open its first hydrogen refuelling point at its new service station at San Donato Milanese.
The zero-emissions hydrogen that will be on sale at the station will itself be produced with renewable energy through the electrolysis of water.
