Italy’s Eni is set to whittle down the contenders battling to land a contract to fabricate a 17,000-tonne integrated drilling and production platform (IDPP) for its Loango project off Congo-Brazzaville.
Industry sources said Italy’s Saipem and McDermott of the US are in pole position to receive invitations to tender from Eni in a few weeks time, while the writing could be on the wall for at least two rivals.
