Eni has started the tender process for a consultant to provide environmental impact assessment services for the Jau field project. The field is expected to be developed on a standalone basis with new pipelines needed to transport the gas to shore. Reserves at Jau were earlier put at 183 billion cubic feet of gas.
Indonesian government officials have said they would consider offering a better split than the traditional 70:30 for Krueng Mane as an incentive for Eni to exploit the block's gas.
