Eni's development of the giant Zohr gas field off Egypt is moving faster than expected, with production now targeted at 2 billion cubic feet per day of gas in September.
The Italian operator had expected to reach that target by the end of the year.
The company is currently pumping 1.6 Bcfd of gas from Zohr and expects to start up its fifth treatment plant in September, increasing total production to 2 Bcfd.
